Feeling ungrateful?  Try emotional clean-up! 

If you are feeling ungrateful and having trouble feeling grateful, try doing some emotional clean up! There are people who are flat out ungrateful.  There are others however, that are so loaded down with pain or wounds that all they can feel is the hurt of life.    

I would not have considered myself an ungrateful person but there were times when I couldn’t see anything but pain and sadness.  When in survival or safety mode, sometimes it’s difficult to feel anything but what’s raging right in front of you.  That’s okay.  I certainly didn’t want to stay in those horrible feelings so I had to and continue to do my own emotional work.

It hurts when people die.  It hurts when people betray you.  It’s anger producing when people don’t keep their word.  Any overabundance of pain can produce a stuck negative focus.  My message to you would be that you don’t have to stay in those shoes when you do the emotional clean up and gratitude becomes much easier in the process.

There can be times when you not only feel the lack of gratitude, but so overcome with grief, anger, shame, regret (any other low emotional upset) that those emotions are the only thing you can feel.  Is that okay?  In my book it is because I know energy and you can’t put perfume on trash!

Maybe your story is similar.  You’ve been hit, and hit again with difficulty of some kind or some blow that has just broken your heart.  How do you cope?  You’ll get over it in time, right?  Some people do, but my client’s stories are filled with things they couldn’t get over until they tapped them away.

It’s not just a matter of mind over matter.  Did you know that pain, illness, lack of success, terrible relationships, and money issues can be a sign of stuck emotions?  Those blocks go deep into areas you would never guess.

While I was grieving the passing of people I loved, so was a family member 20+ years my senior.  She was so worried because she felt like she couldn’t focus, couldn’t remember, couldn’t concentrate and couldn’t even think clearly.  With all the focus on dementia and Alzheimer’s in recent years, she was scared she was now a target.  The interesting thing is that I was feeling the same way.  I couldn’t remember, and I kept repeating myself.  We were both in grief shock!  Though it was uncomfortable, I knew what was happening within me, but she was really frightened.

We both had other physical symptoms as well.  High blood pressure for her, allergies for me. That’s stuck energy related to the shock.  Your body is showing you signs of needing internal release work.  Do you pay attention to your signs and symptoms, or do you shove them down trying to ignore what’s happening?

Pay attention to those signs for they are giving you signals that you need some help.  Even though I’m a tapping coach, I needed help from another coach.  Don’t think that because the technique looks simple, it isn’t complicated.  Clearing your own energy blocks and intensity is not easy.

I recommend getting a tapping coach for those times as well in between the shocks.  Don’t overlook the emotional intensity of a break up, a betrayal, a job loss, infertility, or being fired. If you are stuck in pain for too long, it will cause other building blocks of trouble. Energy builds and you can be putting layer on top of layer and then all of the sudden—bam, you are over your head with issues. I understand some people don’t have the ability to “maintain” their energy with coaching help, but boy if you can, do it!  It will pave the way for a smoother journey and joyful ride. 

If I had only known back then what I know now about energy… geez!
