What is RIGHT for you?<\/p>\n

Everybody has an opinion on what you could or should do. \u00a0The key is to find out what is right for you.<\/p>\n

When I was a successful national account rep, everyone had plenty of expectations and advice for me as to how I should go about selling. What did I do? I figured out a way to make things work for me, the customer and my bosses.<\/p>\n

The first expectation was that I had to\u00a0visit customers in person. \u00a0Since I worked national accounts, that\u00a0meant I “should” be traveling. \u00a0I hated to travel for business. The airports, the flight hours, the navigation in strange cities alone\u2026I didn\u2019t like any of it. That\u2019s what was expected and I hated the pressure. I didn\u2019t want to end up grumpy, anxious with too much to do, depressed, and end up hating a job I loved, so I had to figure out a different way that felt “right” to me.<\/p>\n

The second thing was, because we manufactured custom orders, and I was getting overloaded being the company\u2019s highest producer, so I suggested that I could use an assistant. After trying out about five\u00a0temp assistants that didn\u2019t seem to cut it, I questioned, did I just want to be the only woman in the sales department? I mean, why were none of these assistants efficient enough, and to make it worse, how was this helpful if I had to watch them to make sure they did their job? \u00a0The whole point of getting an assistant was\u00a0to get a good one who knows their job, is capable and doesn’t\u00a0need supervision. \u00a0They didn’t feel “right” to me!<\/p>\n

Then came, \u201cthe one\u201d. She was smart, focused, extremely efficient, and within a few days, I realized I could give her ANYTHING and feel safe knowing it would get taken care of without a second thought about it from me. Heaven\u2026<\/p>\n

There was something else I did with regularity when trying to close a customer. \u00a0I would think to myself, \u201cI\u2019m going to get this one. I\u2019m not sure how, but I will get this one!\u201d \u00a0The intent was set!<\/p>\n

What happened? I didn\u2019t travel but I developed great\u00a0cold calling phone skills that allowed me to cut through to the decision makers, and sell them over the phone. \u00a0You might be thinking that they must\u2019ve been rinky dinky companies, right? Wrong! \u00a0I closed a contract with Disney in FL without ever visiting them!<\/p>\n

As for the assistant dilemma, I not only got an assistant by listening to my gut feelings, but she and I worked as a well-oiled machine team and we kicked butt! \u00a0I ended up selling 50% of the company\u2019s income despite the fact that there were four other sales reps! \u00a0I did what I was great at and she did what she was great at and we both got what we wanted\u2026and so did the company and customer!<\/p>\n

What is my message here? There are plenty of programs that will tell you the 1, 2, 3 steps of how to do this or that but do they feel right for you? If not, then you\u2019ve got to get clear and focus on what you want and what feels right to you. \u00a0This is your life\u00a0to figure out to the best of your ability.<\/p>\n

I cannot stress this enough. When something doesn\u2019t feel good for you, there is usually an automatic response that goes something like, but I work for them and they have all the power. Ah, but you have the power of energy if you are tapping. What do I mean? \u00a0Since I started implementing my Design Your Life strategy with clients, I have seen miracles show up as if by magic.<\/p>\n

What made me powerful in sales? I got clear about what I wanted, and then I figured out how I wanted it to look. I didn\u2019t know tapping back then, but I was stubborn enough to know what I needed, which would give me comfort to do a bang up job. I was focused on what I needed and not what they told me I needed to do. \u00a0That focus gave me\u00a0POWER.<\/p>\n

What if you can\u2019t do that? What if you aren\u2019t clear about what you want? Then what? Have you heard me rave about tapping? It clears out your energy, and it lines you up so that you can be congruent with what you want and how to get it. \u00a0If you\u2019ve never seen or experienced the power of tapping, try out a few of my free videos. They are short but even in a few minutes, you might feel some shift, some ease in how you are feeling and some lift to your energy. The most common description I hear is, “I feel lighter”.<\/p>\n

Yes, there can be quick results, but more often, there will be subtle, yet powerful changes that build on each other. Sometimes they are so subtle that the client doesn\u2019t even notice that there is a change happening. \u00a0That’s one of the reasons that I have clients fill out an intake form. \u00a0When issues leave, we forget we had them so I am happy to help clients recall what\u00a0used to be in the way, and\u00a0what is shifting.<\/p>\n

If you are loaded with angers, fears, resentments, regrets, shame, guilt\u2026you name a negative emotion, then you cannot focus or create when you are reacting. \u00a0When in a fight or fearful pattern, do you know that the brain shuts off from creative ideas and can only focus on \u201cgetting out of there\u201d when you feel a threat? \u00a0How are you supposed to create when all you can think about is how much your boss picks on you, or how much your partner or family shoots down your ideas that get you excited?<\/p>\n

I cannot tell you how beneficial clearing out your energy can be for those kinds of circumstances. \u00a0If you are getting triggered by them, that is YOUR issue, not theirs. \u00a0When we feel threatened, we go into resistance and into the \u201cfight or flight mode\u201d. \u00a0Does that create peace and joy in you? \u00a0Heck no, so what do you do about it?<\/p>\n

Tapping looks easy, but it is a pretty sophisticated technique when you know how to use it to get to the bottom of patterns and clear out stuck emotions.<\/p>\n
