Safety is one of our basic needs.\u00a0 When I work with clients, I see many of them just want to skip to the biggest and loudest symptom<\/em>, but how is the foundation?\u00a0 You can\u2019t build a fantastic house on a weak foundation.\u00a0 Well, I suppose you could<\/em> but would it be strong, healthy or safe?\u00a0 Would you feel confident and secure if the walls started to shake? \u00a0Do you reinforce the walls or work on the foundation that is weak?<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the same with us and our energy.\u00a0 If you try to skip to the symptoms of lack of money or love but you don\u2019t have a strong safe foundation underneath, wouldn\u2019t it make sense to start there first?<\/p>\n

How do you do it?\u00a0 You start by asking yourself, do I feel safe?\u00a0 Do my needs get met? Let the answers bubble up and honor them.\u00a0 Pay attention to them.\u00a0 Let them talk to you.\u00a0 What part of you doesn\u2019t feel safe and why?\u00a0 Those thoughts, those feelings can now become your starting places to tap to release the old and reinforce what\u2019s needed.<\/p>\n

I want to speak to why we focus on negative feelings and emotions while tapping, when so many of us have been taught\u00a0to focus on the positive.\u00a0 It is the locked in, stuck, and crying out energy that has you in a bunch and unable to easily go forward to your dreams.\u00a0 If you are vibrating with the energy of hurt, you will not be able to combat that for long or sustain positivity with pleasantries.\u00a0 That\u2019s the reason it keeps crying out.<\/p>\n

Our hurt feelings, (sadness,\u00a0fear, anger, grief, heartache, anxiety), are\u00a0trying to get your attention\u2026to be heard\u2026to be honored.\u00a0 When you tune into them with tapping, it\u2019s amazing how the energy, the fight against, and the tension will leave your thoughts, and your body so you can relax.\u00a0 Once you reduce your energy tension, and are in a relaxed and easy energy, THEN you can tap in the good, the positive and the happy desires.\u00a0 The positive will take hold when your energy is receptive without that undercurrent of fight or flight.<\/p>\n

Try this out.\u00a0 Pick an area in your life that is causing you worry or discomfort. \u00a0For example, let\u2019s pick income.\u00a0 Ask yourself, do I feel safe and comfortable with my current income?\u00a0 Scale that reaction from 1-10 with 10 being the most uncomfortable.\u00a0 Pay attention to how your body reacts.\u00a0 If the discomfort is higher than 2 or 3, you\u2019ve got some energy working against that desire.\u00a0 People wonder why they don\u2019t get results saying affirmations.\u00a0 Now you have an answer.<\/p>\n

If you are new to tapping or you haven\u2019t gotten results, there might be some undercurrent of energy in your foundation that needs to be released along with some new reinforcements added\u00a0in.\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t have to take a long time to change when you know how to do that.\u00a0 A beginner is not going to know how to get to those source problems, but a skilled and experienced coach can help facilitate that process.<\/p>\n

What are you struggling with in your life?\u00a0 Have you been using tapping to change it?\u00a0 Is it changing?\u00a0 If not, I would suggest to you that you might have to go deeper to the core of the problem.\u00a0 The mechanics of tapping are so easy that sometimes the skill expertise is overlooked or underestimated.\u00a0 Tapping skill comes with time, training and experience.\u00a0 Please don\u2019t think that tapping doesn\u2019t work.\u00a0 You have to know how to use it.<\/p>\n
