You, and maybe your kids, might be setting up for failure if you didn’t learn to follow your own heart, follow your dreams, or if you haven’t been encouraged to be what and who you are.  That’s one of the reasons I love working with people in the music industry.  How many talented children are in schools where music has been minimized?  How many creative, intuitive little minds have been told that you “should” go to “this” school or “that” program because of what it will provide in the future?  Hogwash!!  Is that what made this current generation such a happy bunch???  There are more millionaires than ever before– so what?  When you breed in feeling happy, paying attention to what makes you feel good, whether that’s working on cars, singing on a stage, running a company or cleaning people’s houses, it is the connection to our soul, feeling loved for who we are, and doing what we enjoy, that nurtures happiness.  It is that fulfillment that will bring the joy everyone seeks.  It’s not the degrees, or the school, or what merits you earned but how do you feel doing what you are doing!  Does it bring joy?  Do you love it?  No one else can possibly know what is best for you, but you!  If you are a parent, it is your job to encourage your child to be his or her best authentic self and pay attention to nurture what makes THEM happy and not what you THINK will bring them happiness.  That’s why my website is named— trueauthenticpower.com.  Our POWER comes from living what is right for us!

When parents come to me with concerns about their unhappy life and they realize that they have taught their children to do what they have done, they begin to focus on guilt and want fix their children’s issues.  That’s backwards from what I have learned, studied, and seen with clients.  The best thing you can do for your children from an energetic stand point, is to learn to be happy yourself and give them a model of what to do and not try to do it for them.  I was watching a show called Opening Act a few weeks ago, and there was a young lead singer in a band who desired to have a career in music.  His father was hell bent on pushing him into being a lawyer.  Do you see?  The son wasn’t being nurtured to be who he was, doing what he loved.  He was being taught that “this path should make you successful”.  It doesn’t work that way.  I see plenty of people with money who aren’t happy.  Are they doing what they love?  No.  Can you make money doing what you love?  I absolutely believe you can.  Happiness and money don’t have to be separate things.

You can’t teach your children how to have a great life when you are a mess.  So?  I would ask you.  Are you tapping to rid yourself of the heavy emotions and beliefs that you hold that are keeping you in unhappy life?  The best education you can give your children is to have them see how to live authentically in their passion!
