What is Tapping?

Are you resisting life and overloaded with emotional trash?  Do you think that life is hard?  Is it full of struggle?

When trying to change a pattern, you can sometimes change a thought or how you look at things.  However, if you have been through a trauma, a BIG incident, a loss, or any other huge event that has you in a bunch, you will be hard pressed to change just your thinking to get permanent relief.

When people try to get “over” something, there are many who believe that if you just change your thinking, or focus on something else, you will make headway.  Positive thinking and affirmations will only go so far to heal when you have been slammed with something BIG that has caused huge pain, grief, loss, sadness, betrayal or any other heavy emotion.  I’ve met MANY clients who think they’ve gotten past something, yet they are still suffering with underlying pain.

Life becomes even more frustrating when you can’t seem to go forward and everyone gives you advice.  If you are stuck, there is some big energy, some big fear, and some big resistance that is trying to protect you.  You may not know why, but you just “can’t” go forward.

When life feels hard, difficult, and you are in that much resistance, you most likely have some big energy or event that is holding in your subconscious mind or your physical body that is preventing ease.

Some examples causing life resistance might be:

  1. A break-up that leaves you feeling devastated and deflated about life
  2. Being fired, and you feel shame and embarrassment
  3. Someone dies or leaves you lost with unbelievable pain
  4. Something has been lost (a fire, a break in, something was taken–like your identity)

These are BIG events that can absolutely block you, burden your energy, and stop you in your tracks.  You can want to move forward, but no matter what you do, you can’t.  Why?  Because you are shocked by the event, and your reaction is to hide and resist doing anything and everything that might cause you to feel more pain.  This is NOT about logic.  This is about ENERGY.

When you are thinking I don’t know what to do, I can’t or I wish I could do or be_____ but I just can’t, SOMETHING or SOMEONE has created a big energy interruption.  You can try to push out of it.  You can beat yourself up with harsh words, and you can try to focus on something else, but I guarantee that if it’s a big enough energy interruption, you won’t be able to just move on.

I’ve had clients that got so hurt by a relationship that they did everything they could to avoid any future relationships.  What does relationship avoidance look like?  Addictions, hiding, workaholism, having excuses for not getting close or intimate with any friends or romantic relationships…you get the idea.

Someone who has been publically fired will be stuck in moving forward in their career because of beliefs that have now anchor intense pain to career success.

Our subconscious mind and energy keeps track of all events and memories.  You might go years before something triggers you again with a similar set of circumstances but believe me, your mind and body remembers and it will alert you when it recognizes a threat.

You can release those triggers, and reactions with tapping.  It won’t erase the memories but it can release the pain attached.  I have both written and video testimonials that will describe what is possible in different scenarios.  The videos are testimonial results while going through my Catapulting To Confidence program.

It is unlikely that you will be able to push emotional trash out of the way when it’s got you in an energetic grip.  My office has been filled with people who tried unsuccessfully and years alter were still stuck.  The problem lies in the SUBCONSCIOUS MIND and ENERGY not within conscious and logical thinking.

You don’t have to be re-traumatized by any event or circumstance.  A skilled coach will help you release the event in pieces so that you don’t go into trauma, panic or resistance.  As a client, your job is to provide feedback.  When a client says to me “I can’t go there” or I see their body resisting with tension, tightness, shallow breathing or some other clue, I take a softer and bite sized approach and go at a slower pace.

With tapping, sometimes the quickest way to resolution and release is to allow people to take things down in smaller chunks, since it actually speeds up the process.  The more resistance, the more we push against what we are trying to release.  The more we listen to what our mind and body is telling us during tapping, the easier and faster the clearing happens.  An experienced tapping coach can help you navigate through all that and will also pay attention to your reactions to make sure you can handle what is coming up from the memory banks.
